# Contributing to Awesome-AI-Agents
Thanks for helping improve this list.
## Scope
This repository curates high-quality resources for AI agents, including:
- Applications
- Frameworks
- Tools
- Benchmark/Evaluator
- Platforms/API
- Related resources (Survey, Paper-List Repo, Blog, Reference Repo)
## Quality Bar
We prioritize quality over quantity.
- Standard OSS by default: entries should use a clearly open-source license. Source-available, commercial, or mixed-proprietary licensing will usually be rejected.
- OSS substance over OSS wrapper: an open-source MCP/server/client wrapper is not enough if the core product value depends mainly on a proprietary hosted service or paid backend.
- Real ecosystem value: the project should materially help the agent ecosystem.
- Evidence over marketing: avoid hype-heavy or ad-like wording.
- Maintainability signals: active repo, clear docs, usable code/artifacts.
- No duplicates: check existing entries before submitting.
Submissions may be closed if they are mostly promotional, out of scope, weakly documented, duplicate existing entries, use non-OSS licensing, or function mainly as marketing for a paid or closed service.
## Before You Submit
1. Search the README to ensure the item is not already listed.
2. Confirm the best section for your item.
3. Ensure the project has a complete README (at least install/usage context).
4. Prepare a neutral one-line description.
5. Confirm the repository has a standard open-source license clearly visible in GitHub metadata or the repo itself.
6. If the project connects to a paid API/service, explain what meaningful value remains usable from the OSS artifact itself without buying the hosted product.
## Preferred Contribution Path
Open a PR directly when possible.
- One entry per PR is preferred.
- Keep changes minimal and focused.
- Put the entry in the most appropriate section.
- Keep list style consistent with existing lines.
Entry format:
```md
- [ProjectName](https://github.com/org/repo) - Neutral one-line description.
```
For non-GitHub resources (paper/blog/website), use the existing section style.
## PR Review Expectations
Reviewers typically check:
- Scope fit and section fit
- Duplicate risk
- Open-source status and license clarity
- Whether the OSS artifact is independently useful, or just a thin gateway to a paid hosted product
- README quality and practical usefulness
- Neutral language (no unverifiable claims like "best"/"first" unless clearly verifiable)
- Whether the entry text contains pricing, credits, free-tier, "no API key", upgrade-path, or similar ad-style signals
## Commercial Service Boundary
The list is curated with a standard-OSS bias, not a "has a public repo" bias.
- A public repo does not qualify by itself if the main user value depends on a paid or closed hosted service.
- Source-available, PolyForm, commercial, or mixed proprietary licensing usually does not qualify for the main list even when code is public.
- Open-source adapters for commercial APIs/services are reviewed more strictly because they often function as distribution for the paid service.
- These submissions must show clear standalone OSS value, such as meaningful self-hosted functionality, reusable local components, or a local/runtime/framework capability that remains useful without the hosted product.
- "Free tier", "no API key", pricing, credits, pay-per-call access, or upgrade paths should not be part of the proposed entry line and may be treated as advertising signals.
- Official plugins, thin MCP gateways, and product connectors that mainly unlock a hosted commercial surface will usually be rejected.
- If the commercial dependency is central and the OSS layer is only a thin connector, the submission may be closed even when the repo license is valid.
## Licensing Boundary
The main list is not a general "public source code" directory.
- Standard open-source licenses are expected.
- If license metadata is unclear, absent, or contradicted by repository terms, the submission may be closed until clarified.
- Repositories that recently moved from OSS to commercial/source-available terms are reviewed based on their current license, not historical versions.
## Fast Rework Tips
If your PR is not merged, the fastest way to unblock is:
1. Remove promotional language.
2. Provide concrete technical value in one line.
3. Fix section placement and formatting.
4. Remove pricing, free-tier, or hosted-access wording.
5. If the project depends on a commercial backend, explain the standalone OSS value clearly.
6. Resubmit with only the necessary change.
Thanks again for contributing.

SIL OPEN FONT LICENSE Version 1.1 - 26 February 2007
-----------------------------------------------------------
PREAMBLE
The goals of the Open Font License (OFL) are to stimulate worldwide
development of collaborative font projects, to support the font creation
efforts of academic and linguistic communities, and to provide a free and
open framework in which fonts may be shared and improved in partnership
with others.
The OFL allows the licensed fonts to be used, studied, modified and
redistributed freely as long as they are not sold by themselves. The
fonts, including any derivative works, can be bundled, embedded,
redistributed and/or sold with any software provided that any reserved
names are not used by derivative works. The fonts and derivatives,
however, cannot be released under any other type of license. The
requirement for fonts to remain under this license does not apply
to any document created using the fonts or their derivatives.
DEFINITIONS
"Font Software" refers to the set of files released by the Copyright
Holder(s) under this license and clearly marked as such. This may
include source files, build scripts and documentation.
"Reserved Font Name" refers to any names specified as such after the
copyright statement(s).
"Original Version" refers to the collection of Font Software components as
distributed by the Copyright Holder(s).
"Modified Version" refers to any derivative made by adding to, deleting,
or substituting -- in part or in whole -- any of the components of the
Original Version, by changing formats or by porting the Font Software to a
new environment.
"Author" refers to any designer, engineer, programmer, technical
writer or other person who contributed to the Font Software.
PERMISSION & CONDITIONS
Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining
a copy of the Font Software, to use, study, copy, merge, embed, modify,
redistribute, and sell modified and unmodified copies of the Font
Software, subject to the following conditions:
1) Neither the Font Software nor any of its individual components,
in Original or Modified Versions, may be sold by itself.
2) Original or Modified Versions of the Font Software may be bundled,
redistributed and/or sold with any software, provided that each copy
contains the above copyright notice and this license. These can be
included either as stand-alone text files, human-readable headers or
in the appropriate machine-readable metadata fields within text or
binary files as long as those fields can be easily viewed by the user.
3) No Modified Version of the Font Software may use the Reserved Font
Name(s) unless explicit written permission is granted by the corresponding
Copyright Holder. This restriction only applies to the primary font name as
presented to the users.
4) The name(s) of the Copyright Holder(s) or the Author(s) of the Font
Software shall not be used to promote, endorse or advertise any
Modified Version, except to acknowledge the contribution(s) of the
Copyright Holder(s) and the Author(s) or with their explicit written
permission.
5) The Font Software, modified or unmodified, in part or in whole,
must be distributed entirely under this license, and must not be
distributed under any other license. The requirement for fonts to
remain under this license does not apply to any document created
using the Font Software.
TERMINATION
This license becomes null and void if any of the above conditions are
not met.
