The existing PR will automatically update. 9. **PR Approval and Merging**: Once maintainers approve, they'll merge your PR into the upstream repository. 10. **Delete Branch**: As a best practice, delete the branch used for the specific issue or feature after PR is merged. 11. **Create New Branches**: Create new branches for each issue/PR for organized and isolated development. Following these steps ensures a smooth contribution workflow while contributing to open-source projects. # Something extra I learnt while I learnt about forking a repo : Making a "git pull" from upstream repo to your forked repo We `git pull` command to fetch changes from the upstream repository (the original repository you forked from) into your local branch. Steps to incorporate upstream changes into your branch and push them along with your other changes: 1. **Fetch Upstream Changes:** First, ensure that you have set the upstream repository as a remote in your local repository. You typically set this up once: ```bash git remote add upstream https://github.com/original/repo.git ``` **NOTE:** Depicts an application, that presents where a remote is used in github. Replace the URL with the URL of the original repository. 2. **Fetch Upstream Changes:** Fetch the latest changes from the upstream repository: ```bash git fetch upstream ``` 3. **Merge Upstream Changes:** Merge the fetched changes from the upstream repository into your local branch: ```bash git merge upstream/main ``` Replace `main` with the name of the base branch in the upstream repository (often `main` or `master`). 4. **Resolve Conflicts (if any):** If there are conflicts between your changes and the upstream changes, Git will notify you. You'll need to manually resolve these conflicts by editing the affected files, committing the resolved changes, and then continuing the merge: ```bash git add . git commit -m "Resolved conflicts" git merge --continue ``` 5. **Push Changes:** After resolving conflicts (if any), and ensuring that everything is in order, you can push both your changes and the upstream changes to your fork on GitHub: ```bash git push origin your-branch-name ``` This process allows you to keep your branch up-to-date with changes made in the upstream repository while still working on your own contributions. It's important to regularly fetch and merge upstream changes to minimize conflicts and keep your codebase aligned with the latest developments in the original project. ================================================ FILE: DominicBraam/README.md ================================================ # Dominic Braam Hey, at the time of writing this I would have just completed all my courses for my BSc in Computer Science. GitHub is an increasingly popular programming resource used for code sharing. It's a social networking site for programmers that many companies and organizations use to facilitate project management and collaboration. According to statistics collected in October 2020, it is the most prominent source code host, with over 60 million new repositories created in 2020 and boasting over 56 million total developers. ## What is Git? Git is a version control system used for tracking changes in computer files, making it a top-rated utility for programmers world-wide. Git can handle projects of any size. It is used to coordinate the workflow among project team members and track their progress over time. It also benefits both programmers and non-technical users by keeping track of their project files. Git allows multiple users to work together without disrupting each other’s work. ## How to use Github? * Create your GitHub account, which you should have already done, thanks to the previous section! * Create a repository or “repo” for short. This is where you store your code. * Build a file. * Make a commit. Whenever you create a file or change it, you create a Git commit to store the new version. * Connect your repo with your computer system. #### Contact-Me * [Website](https://kingsman27.netlify.app/) ================================================ FILE: VanshikaGupta17/ReadMe.md ================================================ This is Vanshika's Readme file. ================================================ FILE: Varshithab05/Readme.md ================================================ # About Me Hello! 👋 I'm Varshitha Bammidi I am a Student with a passion for Full stack webdevelopment . When I got my first console, I remember being intrigued by the stories that could be created and conveyed to the audience. I dreamt of producing the same unforgettable experiences for the players, and this is what prompted me to pursue a career in the gaming industry. In my free time, I'm a ravenous games consumer. I love card games and Pen&Paper RPGs, which I use to improve my storytelling skills and creativity. So whenever I have the opportunity, I attend Game Jams to have exciting experiences and get to know vibrant and creative people as passionate as me. I'm currently working @ [FLOWING](https://flowing.it) as Backend Developer, I'm also an OS enthusiast. **How to reach me** [![Linkedin Badge](https://img.shields.io/badge/-Davide_Donadio-blue?style=?style=flat&logo=Linkedin&logoColor=white&link=https://www.linkedin.com/in/davide-donadio-404-not-found/)](https://www.linkedin.com/in/davide-donadio-404-not-found/) [![Instagram Badge](https://img.shields.io/badge/-@giftgod_jr-7248c5?style=flat&logo=instagram&logoColor=white&link=https://www.instagram.com/giftgod_jr/)](https://www.instagram.com/giftgod_jr/) [![Medium Badge](https://img.shields.io/badge/-davide.donadio94-black?style=flat&logo=Medium&logoColor=white&link=https://davide.donadio94.medium.com/)](https://medium.com/@davide.donadio94) [![Dev.to Badge](https://img.shields.io/badge/-@404notfound-black?style=flat&logo=dev-dot-to&logoColor=white&link=https://dev.to/404notfound)](https://dev.to/404notfound) [![Stack Overflow Badge](https://img.shields.io/badge/-Davide_Donadio-orange?style=flat&logo=stackoverflow&logoColor=white&link=https://stackoverflow.com/users/8854824/souravatta?tab=profile)](https://stackoverflow.com/users/7110682/davide-donadio?tab=profile) [![Twitter Badge](https://img.shields.io/badge/-@giftgod__jr-blue?style=flat&logo=twitter&logoColor=white&link=https://twitter.com/@giftgod_jr)](https://twitter.com/giftgod_jr) ================================================ FILE: Zenith-Mind/Readme.md ================================================ #Hi all this is nandan #Thanks for the video ================================================ FILE: ZoreAnkit/Readme.md ================================================ Hey, Myself Ankit Zore. I am Shaykh Farhan. Today we are going to learn about bash. ## What is bash? Bash is a command processor that typically runs in a text window, where the user types commands that cause actions. It is a Unix shell and command language, and it's the default shell on most Linux and macOS systems. Let's dive into some commands. ## Navigation ```bash cd directory_name # Change directory pwd # Print working directory ls # List files and directories ls -l # List files with details ls -a # List all files, including hidden ones ``` ## File Operations ```bash touch filename # Create an empty file cp source destination # Copy file or directory mv source destination # Move or rename file or directory rm file_name # Remove file rm -r directory_name # Remove directory and its contents ``` ## Text Editing ```bash nano file_name # Open file in nano text editor vim file_name # Open file in vim text editor cat file_name # Display content of a file echo "text" > file # Create or overwrite file with text ``` ## Process Management ```bash ps # Display running processes ps aux # Display detailed process information kill process_id # Terminate a process killall process_name # Terminate all processes with a name ``` ## Permissions ```bash chmod +x file # Add execute permission to a file chmod -r file # Remove read permission from a file chown user:group file # Change owner and group of a file ``` ## System Informations ```bash uname -a # Display system information df -h # Display disk space usage free -m # Display memory usage ``` ## Redirections ```bash command > file # Redirect output to a file (overwrite) command >> file # Redirect output to a file (append) command < file # Redirect input from a file command1 | command2 # Pipe output of command1 to command2 ``` ## Conditional Statement ```bash if [ condition ]; then # commands to execute if condition is true fi case "$variable" in pattern1) # commands for pattern1 ;; pattern2) # commands for pattern2 ;; *) # commands for other patterns ;; esac ``` ## Loops ```bash for item in list; do # commands to execute for each item in the list done while [ condition ]; do # commands to execute while condition is true done ``` ## Functions ```bash function_name() { # commands in the function echo "Hello, $1!" } # Call the function function_name "John" ``` ## Conclusion That's it for today. I will see ya with next cheat sheet. Don't forget to give it a star. ================================================ FILE: shaderone/README.md ================================================
